NCLA Beauty is a female-owned and run beauty company that is committed to developing cruelty-free beauty products made with 100% vegan formulas. NCLA represents strong, innovative, and empowered women.
My goal while working with the brand was to make sure that this representation was apparent through their social media presence. As their Social Media Coordinator, some of my responsibilities included building and creating their influencer network and brand ambassador program, conceptualizing and coordinating photoshoots for custom social media content, and reaching out to like-minded brands for collaborations.
Content
With NCLA Beauty I took the opportunity to play around with creative ideas since it’s a smaller product that allows for more room to play with. I took the same approach as I did with Honey’s Kettle where I would research and create a creative brief before I began collecting content. I worked with the Operations Director to map out any approaching events/launches and built content around them. Below are several concepts that I worked on!

Influencer Marketing
NCLA Beauty has a brand that is very engrained within the Los Angeles image. While looking for influencers for their lipstick launch, I had to keep that brand image in mind. After some in-depth research, I compiled a list of over 1000 influencers and had them separated into different tiers based off of their engagement/follower analytics. Once the influencers were approved, I reached out to them or their management and negotiated a deal. Some influencers were willing to post their promotional images in exchange for free product, while others dipped into my budget. The goal was to gain exposure, which was measured through engagement and reach. These images were also shared on our social media platforms to build accountability.
YouTube Collaborations
Bart & Geo have 845k Followers and founded Barbell Brigade and JK Films.
I reached out to Geo and sent her some product to show on their vlog. These products were sent out to several influencers as an intro to NCLA Beauty just before the launch of their lipstick line.
Brand Collaborations
NCLA Beauty wanted to increase brand awareness through collaborations with like-minded brands. I researched and compiled a spreadsheet of companies that met the NCLA brand image and was perfect for summer giveaways. After negotiating with many companies, we successfully rolled out our summer giveaways with the following companies: Lette Macarons, BeGlammed, Just Black Denim, Dogeared Jewelry, A Million Roses, Brunette The Label, Frends, Jade Swim, Kololo, Deux Lux, Pack Up and Go, Skova, and Cake Beauty. Each giveaway brought in over one thousand entrants.
